OFF WE GO INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER–HIGHER AND HIGHER

British Airways plane at Houston Intercontinental airport.

Lately we hear about fees airlines add to their fares—checked baggage, carry-on baggage, fuel adjustment fee, families sitting together, etc.   The fees are more than the base price of the ticket!!

I have thought of a few more possible fees.  Airlines could add a privilege fee—the passenger pays for the privilege of flying on their planes.  Another fee could be for a seat—if you don’t want to sit on the floor, pay the fee.  The toilet fee could be for a single or a package deal.  Also there could be  fees for soap, tissue, towels, and water.

Other possible fees:  a tray fee; overhead bin fee; fees for pilot, co-pilot, ticket agents, stewards, baggage handlers; safety fees would include oxygen mask, flotation device, and safety demonstration. Some fees such as overhead bin, trays, toilet, could be optional, but safety fees would be mandatory.

There’s nothing like fee enterprise!
